CRYSTAL and ISLAND FALLS – Marjorie Averill Nicholson, 94, died March 22, 2013, in Houlton. She was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Sherman Mills, the daughter of Lewis and Viola (Grant) Lane.
She was a member of Crystal Wesleyan Church. Marjorie worked in food service for school district SAD 25 for 23 years. She also served many years as a board member and treasurer for Crystal Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by seven children, Roberta Johnson of Houlton, Sandy and her husband, Bob Blake, of Bangor, Norris and his wife, Lyn Nicholson, of Topsfield, Mass., Philip and his wife, Sandy Nicholson, of Boyd, Texas, Katherine and her husband, Dennis Richardson, of Ludlow, Beth Carver of West Virginia and Lorena and her husband, and Larry Sullivan, of Easton; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, William Sellar of Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Alice Lane; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Nicholson; a daughter, Rhodena Sellar; a son-in-law, Gene Carver; and four brothers.
Friends called 10 a.m. – noon Tuesday, March 26, at Crystal Wesleyan Church, where funeral services were held at noon with Pastor Peter Main officiating.
