Here I am again to wish you a happy Easter season. Some of the Easter celebrations are over but the season is not, so we wish you the best ever and with joy, love and happiness backed with good health.
The month of April is upon us. I always think of April Fool’s Day in April. My fondest remembrance was my father getting a few jokes on his job. I wonder how many remember that. He was a popular man and enjoyed his job and his jokes. I once switched salt and sugar and oh what a laugh we had with that! Those were the days.
Daffodil Sunday is coming up. The day brings forth when the people used to pick daffodils and then take them to the people in the hospitals. What a nice idea. The word April means ‘to open.’ It is considered a moveable feast as it is fixed according to the moon.
Things are going well around here. We have some new tenants, Shirley Anthony, it’s a husband and wife team. They have a dog named ‘Sunshine.’
Someone left an Easter egg beside my door yesterday. I don’t know who, but thank you very much. It was filled with gum drops, a popular candy.
The ‘girls’ are planning another pot luck supper, April 19. Plan ahead and try to come to our pot luck.
Here are the winners of the St. Patrick’s Bazaar at St. Mary Church: Ridgeway floor clock, Mildred Madigan; 1 ton pellets, Dana Codrey; Main St. Fitness, Bonnie Reynolds; girls bike, Francois Bisson; boys bike, Peg Conlogue; watercolor painting, Bernette Roach; Boy and the Boot platter, John Raymond; bathroom faucet, Bob Fitzpatrick. The bazaar was well attended, and the people attending said it was a wonderful bazaar.
The churches have been very busy as usual during this season with extra services, ecumenical services, etc. For the angel verse: ‘’Thanks for standing by me, angel, even when I am at my least lovable.’
Have a wonderful week, one full of love, joy and good health.
