Crafting program
The Limestone Recreation Department will partner with a local Girl Scout for her Do-It-Yourself crafting project beginning May 1 at 3:30 p.m. in the Limestone Recreation Center, located in the back of the Limestone Community School. Crafters of all ages are invited to participate.
The program will take place on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. until May 17. This free program will be coordinated by Rebecca Hatt, a sophomore at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Hatt is a Juliet working on her Gold Project for the Girl Scouts. All items made during this program will be donated to a local homeless shelter or the Hope and Justice Project.
Fitness walking
The Limestone Recreation Department is continuing its fitness walking program on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Individuals in grades 2 through 8 are invited to participate without being accompanied by an adult, while participants in first grade or younger must be accompanied by a parent at all times.
During this program, participants will receive a free pedometer from ACAP’s Healthy Aroostook. At the end of the program, on June 17, their goal is to have reached one million steps.
