Carletta (Pettengill) Nevers has arrived from her home in Hanover, N.H., to spend a few days in the area and to attend the Island Falls Alumni banquet and visit with family and friends.
Also, Gail (Webb) Davis has arrived to spend several weeks at the Webb cottage on Pleasant Pond and while here will enjoy the Summerfest activities and visit with family and friends. With the traffic now being rerouted from I-95 through Island Falls,
the amount of vehicles coming through town has been quite heavy the past week. Many people have arrived to attend the many activities that are going on in the area — especially the Northern Maine Fair in Presque Isle, which attracts many from all over.
I have finally had to do away with my hummingbird feeder as it had lost its seal and no longer could hold the sweet liquid I had for them. I still have lots of flowers that they can drink from, though. And the fat woodchuck is still with me and has been eating up all the bread I toss out once in awhile. I haven’t seen the deer in awhile, but keep an eye out for them.
My one lone cherry tomato plant is flourishing and will get a good crop soon.
