      TROY, IL – Jean E. Stubbs, 79, born March 30, 1934, in Caribou, ME, died on Saturday, September 1, 2013, in Glen Carbon, IL. Mrs. Stubbs was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Presque Isle, ME.
    Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Stubbs; parents, Harry and Ophelia (nee True) Dempster; son, Kenneth “Kenny” Hayes Jr.;. brothers, Kenneth and Merle Dempster; and a sister, Betty White.
    Surviving are her daughters, Judy (Dan) Beals of Troy, IL, and Linda (Hazen) Sewell of New Brunswick, Canada; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Lois “Nettie” Browning and Carol “Avis” Clark; and a brother, Anthony “Tony” Dempster.
    A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou, ME. Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.
