My column is being written in the middle of the week. Something new for me! Sympathy is extended to Leon Hutchinson’s family in Hodgdon. His twin brother Leigh attended the get-together at the home of Leon’s daughter and son-in-law, Bruce and Helen Folsom, after the service. Leon was a very nice man and his family will miss him greatly. Christie, a daughter, lives at Ricker Plaza.
One day last week, Friday to be exact, a potluck was held in the community room. To quote Saddie: “We had a great time.’’ Despite a small attendance, it was nice to get together. Attending were: Saddie Carmichael, Dale DeVoe and her nephew, Jonathan, Thomas Vasko, Paul R. Armstrong, Jeannie Hall, Linda Wood, Shirley Nason, Peggy Robinson and her brother Patrick Friel, Gary Keyes, Evelyn Callnan and Robin Chambers. Lots of food, I heard!
Roberta Disorbo, 70, of Hodgdon, died in Bangor Oct. 9. Our sympathy is extended to Joyce Bryant, her sister. Joyce lives here and is well liked. Several weeks ago our own Dewey Dewitt was featured on Channel 8, Presque Isle, pertaining to golf. It was a great piece and denoted how clever Dewitt is in the sport of golf.
Robin Chambers who was featured in a Halloween picture recently in Houlton Pioneer Times, is now building a cornucopia. It is near the outdoor second floor smoking area. Go and take a look. Several of the tenants have their doors decorated for Halloween, in the orange, black and ghostly colors.
St, Mary’s Church is looking for a wheelchair in good condition. If you know of one, you may call me at 532-2125. Thanks. Kathryn Hall of Bangor was a recent overnight visitor of her mother, Lois Downing.
Alfreda Albert recently had a weeping willow tree removed. The tree was damaged by one of our windy storms. The tree was on her front lawn. How about the Red Sox? I’m enjoying the playoffs. Go Red Sox.
My Bible quote is: “Where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more…’” From the Romans 5:20. See you soon again!
