Peers, Louis A., 53, January 25, 2014. Calling hours will be at the Faye Funeral Home, Presque Isle today from 6 – 9 p.m. and Thursday, January 30 from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will be held at the Limestone United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 30. A time of fellowship at the church will follow the service. CASWELL – Louis Alan Peers, 53, passed away on January 25, 2014, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility due to a battle with cancer. He was born in Long Branch, N.J. on May 12, 1960, the son of Alice (Fuller) Peers and the late John P. Peers of Caswell.
Louis dedicated his life to working on the farm for his father and a number of other local farmers, with the most current being Gilles Michaud Farms Inc. He also spent a number of years driving fuel trucks for Irving Oil Co. He enjoyed attending all the local tractor pulling events when possible, snowmobiling and riding his 4-wheeler. He was a member of the Caswell Snowmobile Club and the former Caswell United Methodist Church. He was happily married to Paula (Roy) Peers of Caswell for 31 years.
Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are two sons, Travis Peers and wife, Elisha, and Chad Peers and wife, Jennifer, both of Limestone; five siblings, Laurin Peers and wife, Sandra, Elwood, June, and Margaret Peers, all of Caswell, and Karen Peers and friend, John Shaw, of Woodland. Also surviving are his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carroll and Joan Roy of Caswell; sisters-in-law, Lisa Carlisle and husband, Delaine of N.C. and Shannon Roy of Caswell; and brothers-in-law, Rodney Roy and friend, Nannette McPherson, of Limestone, and Joey Roy of Caswell. He will also be greatly missed by his three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the Faye Funeral Home at the corner of Academy and Centerline Road, Presque Isle from 6 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. and from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Funeral services will be held at the Limestone United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014. A time of fellowship for family and friends will follow the service at the church.
