      PUTNAM, Donald Keith, 83, PRESQUE ISLE, at Bangor, February 4, 2014. As per his final wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are in the care of Faye Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

     PRESQUE ISLE – Donald Keith Putnam, 83, passed away at a Bangor healthcare facility February 4, 2014, with his family by his side. He was born January 23, 1931, in Presque Isle, the son of the late Charles and Gladys (Mullen) Putnam.
    Mr. Putnam worked as a maintenance man for the Presque Isle Housing Authority and more recently for Dunkin Donuts before retiring. He enjoyed reading and socializing with younger and elderly people. Mr. Putnam was known to have a great sense of humor, he even proposed to his wife, Shirley (Munn) Putnam of 56 years while in the hospital, she responded to his proposal by saying “I can’t, I am already married.”
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, Shirley of Presque Isle, is one son, Stephen Putnam of Bangor; two daughters, Robin Clark and her husband, Chris of Presque Isle and Laurie Comeau of Bradley,  also one adopted daughter, Peggy Gilmer of Presque Isle; one sister, Priscilla Fitzherbert of Presque Isle; and one brother, Charles Putnam of Mapleton; seven grandchildren: Stephen of Wilmington, NC, Aimee of Bangor, Ashley of Bradley, Wesley of Brewer, Keith of Farmington, Brian of Presque Isle, and Beth of Caribou; one great-granddaughter, Lillianna of Bradley; one daughter-in-law, Tryphina Putnam; and a close family friend, Michelle of Bangor.
    The family would like to thank the County Dialysis Center, TAMC’s Aroostook Cancer Care and the staff of Eastern Maine Medical Center for their support and professionalism.
