ISLAND FALLS – Doris “Bunny” York, 83, passed away July 13, 2014, at a local hospital. She was born November 17, 1930, at Crystal, the daughter of Ray and Iva (Desmond) Prescott.
Bunny was a homemaker and held jobs as a town clerk, waitress and did many different tasks for Katahdin Trust Company at their branches in Island Falls, Patten, Oakfield and Houlton.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Corey, Lynne Ryan and her husband, Dana; two sons, Thomas York, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne, John York and his wife, Cindy; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verna MacArthur and Hilda Clukey and her husband, Albert; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Prescott and Susan Prescott; one brother-in-law, Robert Mayer; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Thomas O. York, Sr.; a son, David; and grandchildren, Mark and Butch Williams; siblings Marion Sewell, Dot Porter, Vivian Porter, Jane Anderson, Rita MacArthur, Hazel Stillings, Patricia Mayer, Kenneth Prescott, Raymond Prescott and Ronald Prescott.
