Local girls win Miss Vacationland titles

The Forum in Presque Isle was the setting for the first annual Miss Vacationland Pageant on May 24. Forty-seven contestants were vying for seven division titles and four optional titles.
The pageant was directed by Casey Bonville and co-directed by her mother, Sandra. When deciding on a name for their pageant they were granted permission from Debbie Johnston of Mapleton to use the “Miss Vacationland” title. This had special meaning to Casey as this was her very first pageant title she won back in 2001.
The directors wanted a fun pageant for the contestants to compete in. Opening introductions had all the contestants in pageant-logo T-shirts and white shorts. The contestants were judged in Interview, Fashion Runway and Gown.
The winners of the Jr. High, High School and Collegiate divisions have their pageant fees paid to compete at the Maine Academic Scholarship Pageant in Saco this August. Casey is the current Miss Maine Collegiate America 2014 and will compete in Orlando in July for the national title. She was also the Miss Maine High School America in 2012.
