Flowers: The perfect gift
The talented floral designers at Cook Florist know a lot about beauty and what makes a perfect occasion.
“Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, wedding or any number of special occasions, we have the flowers,” said owner Karen Duncan
“We design fresh flower bouquets, sell plants and deliver locally. We have a large variety of containers, baskets and unique items for men, women, teens and children. We are also well known for our personalized custom funeral work,” she said.
In business since 1943, Duncan said Cook Florist has remained strong over the years thanks to a combination of customer service and the many customers who continue to come back year after year — some for generations.
“We have a great reputation and wonderful customers,” said Duncan.
“Customer service is our highest priority. Without our customers, we wouldn’t be here,” said Duncan. “We’re a local business serving local people. We respect our patrons and do our best to please them.”
In addition, Duncan said the family’s interest in the business, as well as the dedication of staff, have ensured success. Duncan’s daughter, Megan Soucier Allen, is the fourth generation working at Cook Florist. Allen has just graduated from NMCC, and is now designing full-time at Cook Florist.
“Megan is very creative and enjoys designing ‘outside’ the box. All our designers bring their unique talents to designing. Floral Designer Larry Perry has a very contemporary and modern style, Kathy Swanson’s work is very natural and botanical. Penny Nadeau, who has been with Cook Florist since 2003, loves to work with colors that will create a large impact,” said Duncan.
