The Presque Isle Wildcats’ record fell to 1-6-1 on the season following Saturday’s 8-0 home loss to the Waterville Panthers.

Nick Denis and Cody Pellerin had two goals each as the Panthers cruised with three goals in both the first and second periods and two more in the third while holding the Wildcats scoreless throughout.
Waterville held a 45-11 shot advantage, with Jillian Flynn starting in goal for PI and Kyle Plourde coming on in relief late in the contest.
Last Tuesday, PI traveled to the Alfond Arena and faced the Old Town-Orono Black Bears, with the hosts coming away with a 7-1 triumph.
Old Town-Orono broke out to a 6-0 lead before Oliver Gerrish scored his first high school goal late in the second period off an Alex Michaud assist to put the Wildcats on the board.
Damien Spencer and Jacob Dubay each recorded two goals and an assist for the winners.
Flynn made 24 saves in goal for the Wildcats.
Presque Isle hopes to end its six-game winless streak when the team returns to the ice tonight for a game in Houlton against the Houlton-Hodgdon Blackhawks. The Wildcats beat them at home Dec. 16, 8-3, for the team’s only victory of the season.
