Washburn kept its perfect season intact, the Fort Fairfield Tigers bounced back from a loss to the Beavers by tacking on two more wins and the Ashland Hornets are still in search of their first victory in a wrap-up of last week’s girls basketball action in the Class D ranks.

The Washburn team is currently 10-0 and atop the Heal Point standings in its division. The team faces a light upcoming schedule, with a game planned for tonight at home against Easton and not another coming up until next Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Hodgdon.
Fort Fairfield is in fourth with its 7-1 record — one slot behind 8-4 Easton, a team the Tigers have beaten both times this season. However, coach Larry Gardner’s Fort Fairfield squad has played two fewer games than most other teams in its division.
Central Aroostook has now won three in a row and improved to 7-4. The Panthers find themselves in 12th place in the division, with the top 15 moving on to the playoffs. Ashland dropped a couple more games and is 0-10 heading into Thursday’s home game against Limestone-MSSM.
The Presque Isle Wildcats have now won three in a row following their lone loss Dec. 30 to Mount Desert Island. PI, which played Fort Kent at home Tuesday, stood third in the Eastern Maine Class B rankings with its 10-1 record heading into that game.
