Happy Losers hold meeting

On April 15, the Happy Losers held their weekly meeting. Jackie Pratt, the leader always opens the meeting with the usual pledge and roll call.
Eight members weighed-in and attended the meeting. Cecilia Brown was the person who lost the most weight for the week and Jackie Pratt was runner-up. Great job ladies! The secretary and treasurer gave reports for the week. The secretary led the program for the week. Her topic was on Five Foods You Shouldn’t Eat To Lose Belly Fat.
On April 22 the Happy Losers held their weekly meeting. Pratt opened the meeting with the pledge and roll call. She was the person who lost the most weight for the week, and Shirley Sides was runner-up. Great job ladies!
The secretary and treasurer gave reports for the week. Only five members attended the meeting so therefore there was no program as some members were absent.

Purple Hat Ladies
The Purple Hat Ladies met recently at the Chinese restaurant on Military Street for their April meeting. Betty Wyman led in place of Charlotte Marley, who was unable to be present.
Lois Downing said the grace before the meal, then the ladies gave their Purple Hat name to correspond with the first letter of their name. Geneva Bell’s new name is “Gorgeous.”
Cindy Gray and Betty Wyman both gave humorous readings. Betty and Denise Clark were presented with the special items given by Charlotte each month. It was undecided as to a location for the May dinner. Leader Charlotte will let members know.

Island Falls Seniors
The Island Falls senior citizens met at the municipal building April 16 with 16 members and four guests attending.
After an abundant and delicious potluck lunch, the business meeting was opened by president, Rich Camire. The Flag Salute and Lord’s Prayer were observed, followed by the secretary’s and treasurer’s reports.
Plans were finalized for the annual spring outing. After the business meeting, members played Bingo.
Members attending were Jeanne Clements, Verna Boone, Helen Sherman, Iona Nadeau, Dennis Boone, Ursula Levesque, Darrell Hartin, Edith Dwyer, Mary Pipes, Marilyn Noyes, Donna Baker, Mary Lawler, Rich Camire and new member Vicky Kaelin. Guests were Patti Hartin, Yutta Beyer, Mary Ann Kaelin and Susan Scott.
The next meeting will be the outing on May 7. Members will meet at the municipal building at 11 a.m. to leave in a group for the Lincoln destination.
