West Chapman church to hold harvest supper

The West Chapman Advent Christian Church is having their annual harvest supper on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m. The public is welcome to celebrate God’s bounty to communities.

All donations collected at the supper aid in the purchase of new double entry doors for the church. They will be installed in the spring.

Also on Sunday October 30th, there will be a Singspiration at the 10:45 a.m. service. Everyone is invited to participate in this special worship event.

Snowmobile meeting

The Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club will hold their November Board of Directors meeting at the clubhouse on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 6:30 p.m.

Benefit supper

The State Road Advent Christian Church’s annual harvest supper will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 5:30 p.m. This is a free supper; however, donations will be accepted at the door to benefit two local men who sustained serious injuries. Brad Maynard from Mapleton and Larry Adler from Fort Fairfield are going through lengthy recoveries from accidental injuries that occurred this fall.
The supper menu will offer turkey and all the fixings. For more information, call the church at 764-1331. The church is located 6 miles from Presque Isle on Route 227 West, just past Chandler Farms.

Parent organization

The Mapleton Parent Organization (MPO) announced its November schedule of events at the school. The schedule includes their GRAND Luncheon on November 15 where students can bring Grandparents, Relatives, Aunts and Uncles, Neighbors or Devoted Caretakers.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be in full swing Nov. 14-17. The month will end on November 30 with the annual 8-foot wreath and ornament decorating day. Watch for more information on each of these events.

To be successful, MPO activities require volunteers. Anyone can become a member of the MPO and help with its work of supporting the educational programs offered at Mapleton Elementary.
The next monthly meeting of the MPO is Monday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m. at the school. Any parent or guardian who is interested in volunteering to help raise money for the students’ educational activities is welcome to attend.
