Pregnancy Care Center holds “Walk for Life”

HOULTON, Maine — The Pregnancy Care Center (PCC) of Aroostook held its annual “Walk for Life” May 25 to celebrate life and raise funds for their non-profit organization. The walk is one of the PCC’s main fundraisers held annually in Houlton, Presque Isle, and Fort Kent.

This year, 84 walkers from 24 area churches participated and $12,176 was raised. All of the funds pledged by donors will go toward providing free pregnancy tests, maternity and infant clothing, parenting classes, material assistance (diapers, wipes, toiletry items), counseling for women who are seeking healing from a past abortion, and our “Give Moms Credit” Program.

This program allows moms to earn specific baby items by attending parenting classes, watching educational videos, and completing Bible studies. We also offer a “Survivor Intervention” program which is designed to equip young people with the tools necessary to face the current pressures they encounter daily. All of these services are provided at no cost to our clients.

Kinda Hall, the Houlton Center director, said “We are so thankful to have the support of our community as well as family and friends across the country who responded to our social media requests for donations. The PCC meets a need for many women in our communities and we are so grateful to continue to provide free services to them. Thank you to our donors and walk participants for blessing them and faithfully supporting our mission.”
