Law enforcement searching for missing New Sweden boy

NEW SWEDEN, Maine — In just two hours, a Facebook post from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office regarding a missing New Sweden boy already has over 400 shares. 

According to the post, the 15-year old boy “walked away from his family farm on the East Road late this morning.”

The boy was last seen wearing an orange T shirt and baseball cap.

While the Sheriff’s Department is urging anyone who sees the missing boy to call the 800-432-7842, they are not seeking help in the search effort.

“We DO NOT need volunteers in the area at this time,” the post read. “Please do not show up to help. If we need volunteers, we will ask. Thank you.”

At 3:38 p.m., Sheriff Darrell Crandall said via email that the department is releasing no additional information regarding the search.
