WASHBURN, Maine — Frederick Charles Clayton, 79, passed away September 21, 2017 at Cary Medical Center in Caribou. Fred was born on April 5, 1938 to Athil and Elsie Clayton.
Fred loved basketball and was one of the top players on the Washburn team. He spent his life in Washburn, and became the Plant General Manager for McCain Foods in Easton until he retired. During his years of Plant Manager, he traveled to several of the plants in Europe and other places.
Fred is survived by his wife Bonnie Ann Clayton of Presque Isle, a daughter Lisa Labbe and her husband Dennis of Merrimack, NH, and a son Sean Clayton of Tewksbury, MA, two sisters Dolores Woodman of Washburn, and Darlene McHatten of Castle Hill, three brothers; Athil II, Robert and his wife Brenda, and Paul Clayton all of Washburn, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
