PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Peggy Q. Smythe, 65, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at a Bangor Hospital. She was born in Eagle Lake, the daughter of Don and Doris (Robichaud) Quigley.
Peggy was employed as Manager of the Bookstore at the University of Maine at Presque Isle from September 21, 1981 to May 30, 2008.
Peggy is survived by her sisters, Donna Adams and her husband, William, Karen Ouellette, and Colleen Hoke, her sisters in law, Catherine (Smythe) Carson and her husband, Kenny, and Susan Smythe, her nieces and nephews, Andrew Adams and his wife Erin, and their children, Connor, Ryan, Alex and Katelyn, Douglas Adams and his wife Susie, and their children, Avery and Raegan, Nicole Ouellette, Michelle Dubois and her husband Justin, and their daughter Ella, Benjamin Hoke and his wife Emily, Samuel Hoke and his wife Kristina and Ethan Hoke and his wife Kate. She will also be missed by special friends, Sharon Roix, Vonda Philbrook, Cora Shorey and Kevin Kinney. In addition, she will be missed by her babies, her cats, Pickles and Peaches.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her husband William Smythe and her brothers in law, Norman (Bim) Ouellette and Robert Hoke.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, October 12, 2017, from 11-1 p.m. at Duncan Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. A reception will follow services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle, on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to: Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O.
