SMYRNA, Maine — Firefighters from five communities battled a blaze on Friday afternoon that destroyed a manufactured home in Smyrna.

Oakfield Fire Chief Joe White said Monday that the fire took place at 75 Smyrna Center Road and the manufactured home was fully involved when firefighters arrived. The residence was owned by Brandy Clark.

White said that departments from Oakfield, Island Falls, Sherman, Patten and Stacyville were on the scene for more than three hours, and then Oakfield firefighters remained there for another hour..

No one was injured in the single story home, but it was completely destroyed. One cat also was lost in the fire.

White said he was not sure what started the fire or if the residence was insured.

He said that the fire is not under investigation.
