Friday, December 8, 2017, Woodland Consolidated School held the school geography Bee, which is the first round in the 30th annual National Geographic Bee. Twenty students began the Bee consisting of four students each from grades 4-8. The group answered seven rounds of geography-related questions. Scores were tallied and ten moved on to continue in the competition. After the Final Round, just three were left: Dominick Crouch, Whitley Green, and Tanner Prashaw. After many more questions, the competition ended with Whitley Green in 3rd place, Dominick Crouch in 2nd, and Tanner Prashaw came back for his second school Bee win. In 2016, Tanner qualified for the state bee and went to Farmington to qualify for Nationals. He now has a second chance to qualify for the $50,000 scholarship. Congratulations, Tanner Prashaw, and good luck in the next qualifying rounds. Right to left: Tanner Prashaw, Dominick Crouch, Whitley Green. (Courtesy of Woodland Consolidated School)
