Participants in C-Me-Ski range from 11 to over 80

LIMESTONE, Maine — The Limestone Ski Club, in conjunction with the Friends of the Aroostook National Wildlife, sponsored the 30th annual C-Me-Ski event held Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Wildlife Refuge Center. 

The 15-kilometer ski race was held under beautiful sunny skies and warm temperatures on perfectly groomed trails.

Participants ranged in age from 11 years old up to over 80. Trophies were presented to first and second-place finishers in several age categories by Ron Gallagher, president of the ski club, who makes and donates the ski trophies each year for the winners.

The overall winners were siblings Abigail Streinz (52:19) and Caleb Streinz (45:00), both of Hersey.

Age divisions winners were: 16-19 years, Luke Streinz and Wilson Moore; 20-29, Lance McKenney and Hannah Streinz; 40-49, Jeff Dubis and Sherry Dubis; 50-59, Carl Soderberg and Patricia Hebert; 60-69, Tom Campbell; 70-79, Bob Sprague; and 80-and-over, Norman Page.

In the 7K race, Carolina Visuara was the overall winner.

Soups, stews and chilis were served afterward to all racers and attendees.
