Oakfield Seniors (week of February 28, 2018)

Charlotte Marley, Special to The County

Despite the icy roads and parking lots the brave members of The Oakfield Senior Citizens  gathered at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club for their last meeting in February.

After another delicious potluck luncheon, Mr. Locke opened the business meeting with The Lord’s Prayer and the Flag Salute. Wannetta Townsend won the 50/50 raffle. All the reports were read and accepted.

Marie Gillotti read several Valentine quotes that were published many years ago; how times have changed.

Doris Sherman entertained with karaoke music and then asked us to sing along while she sang, accompanied by her guitar. Lots of familiar, well-known music was enjoyed by all.

Attending were: Arlene Friel, Marie Gillotti, Jim and Helen Blois, Wannetta Townsend, George Barrow, Bob and Delores Locke, Jeanne Clement, Ellie Peck, Don and Charlotte Marley and guest Doris Sherman.

The next meeting will be on March 7. All seniors are invited to join us for a potluck followed by business/entertainment.
