HONG KONG, CHINA, and PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE – David Michael Corber, 69, died on March 30, 2018, at a Hong Kong hospital. David was born on May 14, 1948, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, to Murray Corber and Mary Elizabeth “Molly” (Finlay) Corber.
David came to Presque Isle, Maine, at the age of thirteen. He graduated from Presque Isle High School and studied at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He was a talented musician, playing bass guitar in various local bands throughout the years. He enjoyed watching almost any kind of sport, often yelling at the television, whether his team was winning or losing. David moved to Hong Kong in February of 2010, shortly before he turned 62, because, as he put it “life is too short to not be with the one you love.” He had no idea how right he was when fifteen short months after his move to Hong Kong, he suffered a cardiac arrest and never regained consciousness. For the next seven years, Flora was loyal and steadfast in taking care of David in Hong Kong.
David is survived by his loving wife, Florcerfina Roco Corber, of Hong Kong; his daughter, Stephanie Page and her husband, Andrew, and their daughter, Annabelle, all of Fort Fairfield, Maine. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Toni Roco and her son, Jaden, of Hong Kong; his sisters, Linda Oliver and her husband, Robert Oliver, of Arlington, Texas, and Deborah Corber, of Waxahachie, Texas; a nephew, John Oliver and his wife, Leticia, and their children, William and Chelsea, of Fort Worth, Texas, a niece, Molly “Evie” McLean and her spouse, Nina Festa, of Brooklyn, New York. He was predeceased by his parents, and a niece, Sherry McLean. David has been and will be missed greatly by many including his close friends, Raynold “Rick” Tompkins, Keith and Sally Ferris, Don Simpson and Wayne Beaulieu.
