FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine – Peter R. Farnham, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Monday March 26, 2018, at his Fort Fairfield home. He was born on August 9, 1959, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Norman and Joyce (Ketch) Farnham.
Peter was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1977 and attended the Northern Maine Community College, Presque Isle. He had been employed by several sheet metal contractors, the Canadian Pacific Railway, and operated his own business until poor health forced him to stop working. As a teenager, he was well known in the dirt bike circuit, having raced throughout Maine and New England. He loved to fish and always found peace in the outdoors.
He was predeceased by his parents, and is survived by his sister, Linda Patterson of Presque Isle; one brother, Stephen Farnham and his wife, Barbara, of Mapleton; nieces, Lisa Farnham and her husband, Jeffrey Bearden, of Georgia, and Deborah Weeks and her husband, David, of Hudson; nephews, Matthew Farnham and his wife, Sara, Chris Patterson and his wife, Crystal, all of Mapleton, Steven Patterson and his wife, Kim, of Caswell, and Eric Patterson of Ohio; and Pete’s “adopted grandfather” and close friend, Floyd Belmain of Fort Fairfield; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A private memorial service will be held in the spring. Interment will take place in Aroostook Junction, New Brunswick.
