DOLORES A. BRIGGS, HOULTON AND MONTICELLO – Dolores A. Briggs, 83, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Houlton Regional Hospital. She was born on August 20, 1934, in Houlton, the daughter of Albert and Amanda (Caron) Dunphy.
Dolores grew up in Houlton and graduated from Houlton High School with the Class of 1952. She then married Dana Briggs on November 26, 1952, and together they would raise their two children, Debbie and Doug. Dolores worked for many years doing administrative duties for Dana’s Auto Body. She enjoyed going out for coffee and socializing with her friends. Dolores had a “slight” stubborn streak, with an outgoing personality and uncanny quick wit that will be remembered by all.
She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Grass and her fiancé, Jon Robertson, of Brewer, and a son, Douglas Briggs and his wife, Patty, of East Windsor, CT; six grandchildren, Travis Noyes, Mickey Mitton, Derek Briggs, Ryan Briggs, Kevin Briggs, and Molly Briggs; and two great-grandchildren, Tiana and Quincy Mitton. Dolores also leaves behind a brother, Woodie Dunphy and his wife, JoAnn, of Linneus, and their three daughters, Renae, Amanda, and Fawn. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dana, and a niece, Albertine Dunphy. Dolo is also survived by the many friends and family members in the local community who helped extend her life. Thank you to all–you all know who you are.
Friends may call at 12 noon on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Dunn Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. A reception will be held at the Houlton Lodge Of Elks immediately following the service. Interment will be held at a later date at Jewell Cemetery, Monticello.
