GEORGE BELL, HOULTON – George Bell, 87, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018, at a Bangor hospital. He was born on June 16, 1930, in Houlton, the son of Roy and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Bell.
George grew up in Houlton and graduated from Houlton High School. He then went to work for Putnam Brothers repairing gas pumps and eventually retired from Irving in 1995 so he could spend more time with his granddaughter. George then went to work for Donald and Albert Fitzpatrick on the farm doing all the farm and eagerly looked forward to planting season every year. George will always be remembered for his quick wit and easy smile. He was a hard worker a wonderful father, loving grandfather, and a good friend to many.
He is survived by a daughter, Alicia Bell, of New Limerick, a granddaughter, Kelsey Foster, of Houlton, two brothers, Eugene Bell of Houlton, and Basil Bell and his wife, Laura, of Cape Elizabeth, and two special nephews, Drake Bell and his wife, Elizabeth “Tootie,” of Hudson and Brian Bell and his wife, Debbie, of Houlton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Donna, and a granddaughter, Whitney Elizabeth.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Dunn Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at a later date at Linneus Cemetery, Linneus.
