Good news folks. Welcome to the 2018 golf season! Houlton Community Golf Course will be open for the season on Wednesday, May 9. Although the course is a little wet in places, several of our members have taken advantage of the warmer weather to get in a few rounds outside.

Because of the wetness, power carts will be restricted initially. The grounds crew has been fast at work cleaning up the winter debris and preparing for the season.the street sign is installed and the pro shop crew is ready to go. Stop by and say hi to Ray. Might be a good time to fill out your membership app or even playa quick nine holes.

Our Golf for Life program will start in the next couple of weeks down at the range with Dave Grant instructing. Those new students will be contacted to confirm times. Junior golf clinic will begin in June after school lets out, so plan on getting your kids involved. Basic starter instruction on the range with time on the course also.

Let them learn a sport they can participate in for the rest of their life. In July we will have a four day golf camp for high school age players to improve their skills for the coming season. Call the proshop for more information about these programs.

The Lakeside Restaurant will start their normal full season hours on Wednesday. They will be open from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for lunch and 4:30-8:30 for dinner Wednesday through Saturday. They will also be open 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for their famous Sunday Brunch. Give Nancy a call at 694-9494 to make reservations and tell her how much you’ve missed them.
