Christopher Phillips, assistant grant writer and project manager for the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, was the guest speaker. Phillips, a 2015 graduate of UMPI, also took classes at the center and talked about the importance of education and internships, and not being afraid of taking the “next steps” in one’s future.

After the gift presentations for the graduates, refreshments were served for all to enjoy.

During the ceremony, Jean Henderson, professional advisor and student services coordinator, was recognized for her 25 years of service and dedication to the students and the University of Maine System.
