Easton announces honor parts

The principal of Easton Junior Senior High School, Cameron Adams, has announced the honor parts for the graduation ceremonies of the Class of 2018.  The graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018.

Katelyn White, the daughter of Bruce and Elaine White, is the valedictorian.  She has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, serving a term as Northern Region president.  She has been a member of the Spanish Club for four years and the Math Team for four years, winning the Aroostook Math League Small School Championship each year.

She has participated in student government, including Student Council. She also served one term each as class president and treasurer. White also participated in Dirigo Girls’ State. She has been a member of the Key Club for three years.

She has been involved in one-act play for three years, receiving the Regional All-Festival Cast Award, Regional Ensemble Award, Regional Champions and the State All-Festival Cast Award. She also participated in the senior play for three years and was a speaker at Junior Exhibition.

White has been a member of the Band for four years and was selected for the All Aroostook Band each year. She was in the Jazz Choir for four years, the All Aroostook Chorus for three years, and was selected for All State Chorus for two years. She was a member of the Eastonia yearbook staff for three years. She spent time as a varsity cheerleader and varsity soccer manager. She was on the honor roll for all four years and was recognized as a Student of the Month.  

White will attend Liberty University, studying digital marketing and advertising.

Paige Flewelling, the daughter of Loren and Margaret Flewelling, is salutatorian. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, serving one term as chapter president and one term as state public relations coordinator. She has been a member of the Spanish Club for two years and the Math Team for four years.

She has participated in student government, serving three years as a class officer. She has been a member of the Key Club for three years. She has been involved in one-act play for three years, receiving the Regional Ensemble Award three times, Regional Champions and the State Ensemble Award. She also participated in the senior play for two years and was a speaker at Junior Exhibition.

Flewelling has been a member of the Band for four years and was selected for the All Aroostook Band. She was a member of the Eastonia yearbook staff for one year, serving as editor.

She was a member of the varsity basketball team for three years, serving one year as speaking captain, and played junior varsity basketball as well. She was a member of the varsity soccer team for one year and served as manager for two years.  She was a member of the volleyball team for four years, achieving the Aroostook League Championship one year. She was on the honor roll for all four years and was recognized as a Student of the Month.

Flewelling will attend Kingswood University, studying worship leading.

The first honor essayist, Connor Bragg, is the son of Rick and Heather Bragg.  He has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years, serving a term as a chapter officer. He has been a member of the Spanish Club for four years, serving as an officer for two years, and a member of the Math Team for four years.

He has participated in student government, serving two years as a class officer. He has been a member of the Key Club for three years and also participated in Dirigo Boys’ State.

He was a member of the Eastonia yearbook staff for one year and a member of the Envirothon Team for four years. He was on the honor roll for all four years.

Bragg will attend Dartmouth College, studying political science.

Cecelia Ferris, second honor essayist, is the daughter of Dan and Leslie Ferris. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years, serving one term as Northern Region secretary. She has been a member of the Spanish Club for two years and a member of the Math Team for four years.

She has participated in student government, serving two years as class secretary. She has been a member of the Key Club for three years. She has been involved in one-act play for three years, receiving the Regional Ensemble Award, Regional Champions and the State Ensemble Award. She also participated in the senior play for three years and was a speaker at Junior Exhibition.

Ferris has been a member of the band for four years and was selected to the All Aroostook Band for two years. She was also a member of the Jazz Choir for four years and she was selected for All-Aroostook Chorus for three years. She was a member of the Envirothon Team for four years, and was a member of the Eastonia yearbook staff.

Easton Alumni Banquet

The Easton Alumni Association would like to invite all alumni to our annual Alumni Banquet to be held on Thursday, June 7, at 6 p.m. in the Easton Elementary cafeteria.

We will enjoy a meal of chicken, potatoes, mixed vegetables and rolls. Alumni are asked to bring a salad or dessert. Admission is free with your annual paid dues. A brief business meeting will follow. Hope to see you there.

Happy Days Club

The Happy Days Club meeting will be June 14 with a potluck lunch.  Everyone is invited to attend in the Recreation Room at the Manor at 11:30.
