PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Police Department announced late Thursday afternoon that officers had arrested a Presque Isle man wanted for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

On the afternoon of June 25, Officer Lucas Hafford responded to a report of domestic violence but Mancos had fled on foot before Hafford arrived. The officer said Thursday he could not comment on details about the incident due to the violent nature of the crime.

But Hafford said that Mancos also was wanted on two prior warrants — one involving charges of operating under the influence, operating a vehicle after suspension of a license and violating conditions of release; and another related to charges of operating a vehicle after suspension of a license and violating conditions of release.

Police earlier posted a notice on the department’s Facebook page seeking the public’s help in locating Mancos. Details about how he was located and apprehended Thursday  were not immediately available.
