MARS HILL and SIDNEY, Maine – Conrad Brent Kinney, 69, of Mars Hill and Sidney, Maine, passed away on August 11, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 12, 1949, in Mars Hill, Maine, the son of Clara and Malcolm Kinney.
Conrad graduated from Central Aroostook High School in 1968. He was a devoted Paramedic for more than 13 years. He spent many happy years operating heavy equipment for A.E. McQuade & Son. He was the proud owner operator of C.B. Kinney & Son spending many years driving for McCain Transport, M.P.G. and John T. Noble. During his retirement he continued to drive and operate equipment for Manter Construction until the spring of 2018.
He enjoyed spending time with his family on many outdoor adventures, his favorites often included a fishing rod and the Meduxnekeag. He was well known for socializing and story-telling. He made many best friends throughout his life. He will be remembered by all as a hard worker with a tender heart. His life was defined by caring for others along with unwavering pride and love displayed for his family.
Conrad is survived by his wife, Debbie Kinney of Sidney, ME; daughters, Jenny McPherson and husband, Tate, of Mapleton, ME, Janine Stackpole and husband, Chris, of Mars Hill, ME, and Lindsey Michaud and husband, Adam, of Presque Isle, ME; son, Ryan Kinney and wife, Christina, of Fort Fairfield, ME; stepson, Christopher Parsons and Jody of Vassalboro, ME; stepdaughter, Jessica Parsons of Unity, ME; grandchildren, Landon, Chandler, Shane, Ben, Angel, Ethan, Reese, Bodey, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Madelyn, and Harlow; a sister, Pam Woollard and husband, Jim, of Mars Hill, ME; and special niece and nephews, Vicki Soule, Tyler Kinney and Jason Woollard. Conrad was predeceased by his parents, Malcolm and Clara Kinney; and grandson, Kohen Michaud.
A family graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on August 25 at East Blaine Cemetery, in Blaine, Maine. A celebration of life will be held following the graveside ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Stone Ridge event center (formerly known as the Crow’s Nest) in Presque Isle. The family would like to invite all to come a join in a time of remembrance. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be given to Megan’s Fund.
