HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton-Hodgdon-Southern Aroostook-Katahdin hockey team continues to skate hard in recent matches.

The Black Hawks (2-9-1) fell 6-1 on the road against Hampden Academy Saturday and lost 3-0 to Old Town/Orono Monday, Jan. 21. The team also defeated Messalonskee 3-0 Jan. 18 at home.

Against the Broncos Saturday, Nate DeLucca scored the team’s lone goal with an assist by Jason Collett. Goalie Elijah Matheson made 43 saves on 49 shots.

Against Old Town, the Black Hawks were unable to produce a goal, but that was not the case against Messalonskee Jan. 18 as Noah Reynolds tallied a hat trick scoring all three goals for the Black Hawks. Jason Collett had two assists on the day, while Josh McGillicuddy and Alex Wilde also had assists. Matheson was a perfect 16-for-16 in save opportunities in net for the Black Hawks.

The squad returns to the ice Saturday, Feb. 2, when the team hosts Brewer.
