Forestry Night features ash borer overview

LITTLETON, Maine — Winter Agriculture School will present Forestry Night from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, at the Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowmobile Clubhouse in Littleton.

The Southern Aroostook Soil and Water Conservation District, Houlton/Hodgdon Adult and Community Education and the Maine Forest Service are partnering to present the session, which will feature updates and information on managing the emerald ash borer.

Topics will include the biology and history of EAB in Maine with Colleen Teerling, MFS entomologist; EAB management tools and forest aftermath with Nate Siegert, forest entomologist with the U.S. Forest Service; and quarantines and movement of ash products in Maine with Gary Fish, state horticulturist with the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.

Two pesticide applicator credits are available for attending, as well as other continuing education credits.
