HOULTON, Maine — Thanks to the generosity of parishioners, St. Mary’s Catholic Church will sponsor a free showing of the movie “Unplanned” at the Temple Theatre at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30.
“Unplanned” is the true story of Abby Johnson, one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the nation. She was involved in more than 22,000 abortions and counseled countless women about their reproductive choices. Her passion surrounding a woman’s right to choose even led her to become a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood, fighting to enact legislation for the cause she so deeply believed in — until the day she saw something that changed everything.
The showing on April 30 is the only local showing north of Bangor. Donations will be accepted and movie-goers are encouraged to support the Temple Theatre by purchasing concessions.
