PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Maine Torchbearer Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met on Sept. 12 at the home of Judy Kenney, chapter president.

A potluck dinner preceded the meeting.

Kenney  called the business meeting to order and welcomed guests Bernice Belanger, Miriam Gregg and Lynne Walton from Preceptor Alpha. Program booklets designed by Helene Bernard, Linda Swett and Nancy Nichols were handed out.

Members will present a donation to the Aroostook House of Comfort in memory of Sterling Helstrom, husband of member Ellen Helstrom, who passed away in January.

The 50/50 fundraiser raffle was won by Honey Higgins.

Events around the community included a book event at Wintergreen Arts Center on Sept. 14, along with an upcoming music trivia contest at the Presque Isle Country Club on Sept. 20 and music by Star City Syndicate at the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Sept. 27th.

Happy dollars were shared by Kenney, Bernard and Iris Towle.

The next meeting will be on Oct. 17 at the home of Helene Bernard. Members are reminded to bring items for the pound auction fundraiser.
