The Star City lights up for the holidays

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Magical lights casting their colorful glow on the snow never seem to get old. It’s a favorite part of the holiday season for many, as evidenced by the vehicles one may see driving very slowly past festive displays so as to take in the wonder.

Despite blustery winds on Thursday, a trip around Presque Isle showed streets glowing with holiday spirit.

There are homes adorned with wreaths and evergreens; inflatable figures; trees and shrubbery alight with both white and colored lights; deer and penguins; and of course, Nativity scenes, snowmen and Santa.

The trip isn’t far to gaze at residents’ handiwork, and it may just add a festive touch to your own celebration.
