Perham man arrested on five warrants

CARIBOU, Maine — Maine State Police arrested James Clark, 45, of Perham on four Maine warrants and one extraditable New Hampshire warrant for various motor vehicle, burglary and drug charges on Thursday. 

 

Law enforcement located Clark as a passenger in a vehicle in Caribou and conducted a traffic stop, after which he was arrested without incident.

Police also arrested the driver, Stephen Carvell, 63, of Perham, for hindering apprehension and another passenger, Kylie Harris, 30, of Perham, for a probation revocation warrant. Both Clark and Harris were transported to Aroostook County Jail, while Carvell was charged and released.

The arrests occurred not too far from the Caribou Police Department. The department, along with Aroostook Sheriff’s Department, assisted state police. A photo taken on Thursday afternoon of law enforcement officers with guns drawn was widely circulated on social media.

Police said no additional information was available Friday.
