Dalton Historical Society awards local supporters

ASHLAND, Maine — The William Dalton Historical Society of Ashland ended their 2019 year with an awards presentation.

President Steven Pudlo presented the President’s Certificate of Appreciation Awards to the following.

Ashland Community Library and Cindy Morton, head librarian, for continued support and use of their facilities.

Rose Dubay Chambers for maintaining the website, printing the first Ashland historic book and other support.

Theresa Lyons for painting the collections room and dedicated care of the society’s collection.

The society’s purpose is to collect, preserve and record the history of the area and its people, including the communities of Ashland, Garfield Plt., Masardis, Nashville Plt. and Oxbow Plt.

The society meets at 1 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the Ashland Town Library, 57 Exchange St. The public is invited to attend. Membership is open to all interested members and community organizations.

The historical group welcomes questions and suggestions.
