The Mapleton Daze Committee has postponed the Spring Craft and Vendor Fair, scheduled April 25 at the Mapleton Lions Hall, until later this spring in an effort to make sure vendors and patrons stay safe.
They hope to hold the fair sometime in May, depending on when state directives allow. Information will be posted on the Mapleton Daze Facebook page.
Currently, Mapleton Daze weekend is still scheduled to start on Wednesday, June 24, and run through Sunday, June 28.
The Mapleton Post Office is still operating. Church doors remain closed with both Mapleton United Baptist Church and State Road Advent Christian Church live streaming services. For more information, contact the churches or check out their Facebook pages.
Trails are closed
The Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile and ATV Club announced last week that all ATV trails are closed as mud season has arrived. The club recognizes the landowners’ concerns for their property as melting snow continues to soften the trails before they dry and harden.
Courtesy shown to landowners at this time encourages landowners to allow the continued use of the trails that cross their properties. Unnecessary property damage by a few may lead to all riders being denied access to the trails.
The club asks that riders please wait until a notice appears from all the area clubs that trails are officially open.
Town Office Update
The Municipal Office continues to be closed to the public. The board of selectmen live-streamed its meeting last week.
To see future streamed meetings, contact the office to see when they are scheduled. The office has been closed since March 19, 2020. They have installed a drop box outside their building to help service residents in need of new registrations. All other services will be handled by phone, email or mail.
Staff are available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Payments are still acceptable by credit card over the phone.
For information contact the office at 207-764-3754.
