First Friday art goes virtual in new video

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Wintergreen Arts Center is featuring ceramic artist Dylan Ouellette of Presque Isle in a July First Friday art video.

“I am doing a video in part due to COVID precautions,” said Ouellette, “but also as an opportunity to explore a method of giving the people who view my art a more in-depth explanation of how I get to the finished pieces.”

In this 11-minute video, “Dylan Ouellette: Alone and Talking to Myself,” people can watch Ouellette create a ceramic creamer from start to finish as he talks about the problem-solving steps behind his art process.

“Dylan is creative both in his art process and his ability to bring his art alive through video,” said Dottie Hutchins, Wintergreen’s executive director.  “I am so impressed with how he seized the moment and found a virtual solution to share his art with First Friday Art Walk enthusiasts.”
