WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins recently announced that Kate Leavitt, a Limestone native, has been hired as a staff assistant in her Washington, D.C., office.

Leavitt is a 2015 graduate of Presque Isle High School and is the daughter of Steven and Dianne Leavitt of Limestone. She previously served as an intern in Collins’ D.C. office this past spring.

“Kate displayed a strong work ethic as a spring intern and has an impressive record of academic achievement,” said Collins. “I am delighted that she will continue to serve Mainers as a member of my staff in Washington, D.C.”

Leavitt is a 2019 graduate of the University of Maine in Orono, where she studied political science and sociology.
