Return Carpenter to the Maine Senate

To the editor:

I urge you to support Mike Carpenter with your vote on or before Nov. 3.

There has never been a more important time to elect knowledgeable and experienced legislators.  Mike grew up on a dairy farm on the B Road, and still resides in Houlton.  He is a practicing attorney and advocate for veterans and families.  Outgoing and friendly, Mike has a way of checking in to get a snapshot of what’s going on, what’s concerning, and then making connections in Augusta to solve problems.

Mike is well known along both the main routes and farm roads of Maine Senate District 2. He is considered a personal friend by many.  His senate district covers over 35,000 people across 2 counties, nearly 50 towns, and a few unorganized territories. An astonishing number of constituents can cite a time when they hit a downturn or snag that he was able to help them through.

Mike’s varied experience in government, notably as state attorney general, state representative and your senator, position him uniquely to work for the betterment of this region.  He makes a point of connecting across the aisle.  The Committee on Veteran’s affairs is his most recent platform for writing legislation: A Maine Veteran’s Bill of Rights, which has bipartisan support. More information about Mike can be found at his Maine Senate webpage at legislature.maine.gov/senate.  While you are there, sign up for Mike’s newsletter.  He’s a great communicator.
