STACYVILLE, Maine — The Katahdin boys and girls soccer teams roared to impressive victories Thursday, Sept. 24, in their respective season openers.
Hosting East Grand of Danforth, the Katahdin girls rolled to a 10-0 shutout over the Vikings thanks to four goals from Emily Beyer. Makayla Hartsgrove added three goals, while Emma McNally had two and Hunter Hartsgrove chipped in one.
At Danforth, the Cougar boys secured a 9-0 victory over East Grand thanks to two goals from Kyle McNally. Notching one goal and an assist were Jacob Perry, Jeffery Martin, Kaden McNally, and Jalen Somers, while Grady Ritchie, Lucas Graves, and Wyatt Smith each had one goal. Jacob Fitzpatrick had an assist.
