CARIBOU, Maine — A Caribou man is in critical condition at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center after police on Nov. 16 found him bleeding profusely from a stab wound.

Officers were dispatched to a Sweden Street residence at 9:45 p.m. Monday after receiving a report that two men were on a porch acting strangely, according to a Nov. 17 press release from Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan.

Officers found Codie Robbins, 28, of Caribou bleeding from a serious stab wound. The other man took off toward Roosevelt Avenue, Gahagan said.

Caribou Fire and Ambulance transported Robbins to Cary Medical Center, and he was later flown to Northern Light Eastern Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries, Gahagan said.

Caribou Police were also assisted by the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine State Police/Major Crimes Unit.

Gahagan said the incident appears to be isolated and said he does not believe the public is in any danger.

The department is asking for the public’s help in obtaining more information about the incident.

“We are asking for help from Caribou citizens or people passing through,” Gahagan said. “If you saw anything suspicious between 8:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. last evening on Sweden Street, Spring Street, Roosevelt Avenue, or those general areas, please call us at 493-3301.”
