Police arrest Caribou man in connection with alleged stabbing

CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou Police, Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department assisted in apprehending Adam Jalbert, 32, of Caribou on Nov. 17 in connection with an alleged stabbing that occurred on the prior evening.

Officers found Codie Robbins, 28, of Caribou bleeding from what appeared to be a serious stab wound after receiving a report of two men acting strangely on the porch of a Sweden Street residence, according to Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan.

The other man, who officers believe to be Jalbert, fled from the scene while Robbins was transported to Cary Medical Center by the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department. Due to the severity of his injuries, he soon had to be flown to Northern Light Eastern Medical Center.

Police earlier yesterday obtained an arrest warrant for Jalbert with the charge of elevated aggravated assault. According to an update on the department’s social media page, Jalbert was captured without incident.
