Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of November 23, 2020

With another year coming to close we at The Ark are on a fundraising mission. Not knowing what the immediate future holds, and if we are going to go into lock down again, we want to make sure we are in a position to be financially stable.

We have come up with a very busy fundraising goal. The day after Thanksgiving we will start our final online auction of the year. This will be the largest auction to date and we are hoping we are going to be very successful. We will share the link on our Facebook page and we hope you will check it out.  Many generous people and businesses have donated some great items.

On Dec. 5 we will be selling Christmas trees and wreaths and will also have a bake sale.  The format for the bake sale will be a little different, but we will still have the same great foods. All warm food will be pre-packaged so you will have to take it home and warm it up. Once you have made your selections ring the doorbell and someone will take your money. It would be most helpful if you have an exact amount of cash.

We will have bake sales every Saturday until Christmas following the same guidelines. There will also be a sponsorship tree where you can sponsor a cat for the month for $20. Tags will be placed on the tree with names of all the cats. We are in hopes to get every cat sponsored before Christmas. There will also be a giving tree where donations of Purina cat chow, canned pate, scoopable litter and cleaning supplies can be dropped off. This will help us get through those difficult winter months.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, we will be delivering 10 Thanksgiving meals to 10 families in need. Our volunteers have worked hard on this and with the help of our supporters and local businesses  we are able to give something back to the community this holiday season. That is something we are very proud of.

While we know this is an aggressive schedule we believe we can do it with your help. If you have any questions you can contact Lorraine at the Hollywood Pet salon or message us on Facebook.

We want to thank everyone for their continued support and generosity during these difficult times. Thank you for your continued support and as always thank you for reading our column.

Happy Thanksgiving. Stay safe and healthy.
