Houlton girls defeat Caribou in close game

CARIBOU, Maine — The Houlton Shires netted a close 39-34 victory over the Caribou girls varsity basketball team Jan. 26 in a back-and-forth contest.

The Vikings started quickly, jumping to an eight point lead at the end of the first quarter (17-9), but by the halftime break, Houlton was on top 23-20. Caribou was back on top after three quarters of play, 28-27. 

Top scorers on the Houlton team were Drew Warman, who scored 17 points, and Mia Henderson and Morgan Graham, who both scored seven. 

For Caribou, Ashlyn Bouchard scored 11 points; Selena Savage added 10, and Gabrielle Sutherland chipped in six.
