WASHBURN, Maine — Principal Larry Worcester, along with the staff of Washburn District High School, are proud to announce Parker Corey as the Student of the Month for January.

Corey is a sophomore at Washburn District High school and the son of Ross and Billie Allen and Brad Corey.

He is an active member of the school community.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and Varsity Club as well as a two-year member of the cross country and basketball teams. He is also president of the school’s FFA chapter.

Staff members agree that Corey is polite, hardworking and always willing to lend a hand.

Ms. Jones said, “Parker is a blessing to have in class especially for me teaching remotely.  He is eager to help his classmates, a great listener and participates well in class.  He sets up the technology every morning for my class.”

Corey is also working on early college classes through the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
