FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — After weeklong family- and agricultural-themed events, the Maine Potato Blossom Festival ended the weekend with various activities, including the much anticipated parade.

Even an hour prior to the parade, thousands of cars parked near the sidewalks of Presque Isle and Main streets and surrounding neighborhoods. Families set up lawn chairs in groups and waited eagerly for the line-up of antique cars that kicked off the afternoon festivities.

The approximately 45-minute parade featured hundreds of vehicles that showcased pageant queens, agricultural equipment and local ambulance and fire departments.
This year’s 74th annual festival closed its final weekend with events that included a children’s bike rodeo, arts and craft vendors, an obstacle course and fireworks.
